Students from different colleges of Tarlac State University engaged in the hydro-themed TSU RUN 2.0, on Feb. 05, at Lucinda Campus.
Various water-releated activities, and exercises were prepared by the Supreme Student Council (SSC) that students took part and enjoyed.
Moreover, a firetruck, in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), was installed to the field that splashed participants, quoted by most student as the much anticipated part of the event.
The marathon circled through TSU Lucinda Campus and Ungot Road where a paint pool was stationed to signify the completion of the run.
Additionally, 2nd Yr. BA Comm student John Paul Carreon earned recognition as 1st Runner-up, the with a bib number 0033.
Carreon is also part of the CASS Athletics team, and will received a prize money of ₱4,000 for being one of the fastest runners of TSU RUN 2.0.
Meanwhile, Student Regent and SSC President Brixter Millo shared that the council doesn't have high expectations, but were also hopeful for the event.
"Actually, wala kaming ine-expect...hindi namin alam na yayakapin din ng mga students itong TSU RUN 2.0, kahit papaano, nagkaroon naman kami ng maraming audience, so I think successful naman since naabot namin yung quota na 1,000 students," Millo said.
Pres. Millo also shared that the council also took inspiration to Thailand's 'Songkran Festival' as the major theme for TSU RUN 2.0.
"Iyong paint sa dulo is actually memorable for us [SSC], and for the students...it symbolizes memory ng TSU RUN 2.0, and for the first time ay nagawa namin ang fun run for the intramurals," Millo added.
Additionally, 3rd Yr. BHumServ Student Reynalyn Garcia expresses her first-time experience, quoting "right decision" in joining the fun run.
"Sineaze (siezed) po naming magbabarkada, kasi we werebthird years already and hindi pa namin nararanasan ito. It was our right decision na sumama this time to shake off the academic stress na meron kami."
Garcia also described that most prepared activities were 'witty,' 'fun,' and made their day colorful.
The run lasted at least 3 hours where different refilling stations were set to maximize the watergun purchased by the students.
SSC Apprentices and staffs also joined the fun, spraying runners with various colors, at different parts of the event.
Moreover, SSC Executives led the Zumba that acted as 'warm up' and 'cool down' activities, before and after the run.
TSU RUN 2.0 is part of the Comeback Celebration, where Intramurals Week was post-poned last year.
