Tarlac State University (TSU) staged Tigtigan Keng Lucinda – Battle of the Bands II at the TSU Lucinda Campus last December 20, 2025, as part of its semester-end activities.

The event featured a Battle of the Bands competition, where Emberline emerged as first place, followed by Coincidence Band in second place and Excalibur in third. Also performing during the competition were Euthymia and Wyverns.

Special performances were delivered by reggae band Drop Mic, along with artists Weegus and Chippy. Guest performer FitterKarma also took the stage, performing several of their hit songs.

Apart from the musical performances, the event likewise recognized winners of the WeTSUne 2025 competition as TSU – The Oracle won first place in the WeTSUne 2025.

Moreover, the publication also received minor awards for Outstanding Social Commentary and Best Original Concept during the awarding ceremony held the same evening at the TSU–Lucinda Campus.

Editor-in-Chief Mandie G. Asejo said the recognition was a milestone for the publication, noting that WeTSUne was held for the first time this year.

“Winning WeTSUne is really an honor, especially for the publication since this was also the first time WeTSUne was held. I’m really thankful to everyone behind Oraculum because we were able to make it work despite how busy everyone was,” Asejo said.

“From the day of shooting up until the editing process, we pushed through together, and this win is something we all share.” He added.

Meanwhile, according to TSU Supreme Student Council Vice President Rafael Jay Valix, this year marked the second installment of Tigtigan Keng Lucinda, following its launch last year.

“Overall, it feels incredibly fulfilling. Since it served as our semester-end activity, seeing everything come together was very rewarding, especially with the larger crowd we gathered this year,” Valix said.

Valix said organizers faced several challenges during the preparation stage, including time constraints due to final examinations, financial limitations, and workforce shortages as student leaders balanced academic responsibilities.

“Although we did not fully reach our target number of participants, we were still able to execute the event smoothly with the help of various university offices and individuals who extended their support, particularly in terms of financial assistance,” he added.

Tigtigan Keng Lucinda – Battle of the Bands II concluded as a showcase of student talent and collaboration, marking a strong close to the academic semester at TSU.
