Tarlac State University Hip-hop Dance Group (TSU-HHDG) grooved to triumph as they claimed the silver medal at the National Dance Championship, last March 28 at the Philippine Sports Arena, Pasig City.
College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) representatives Roy Marty Nakpil, Rodolfo M. Santos III, Giraud Montrichard E. Marcelo, Rafael Torre, and Rory Inlao bring pride to the college as they showcase their dedication and passion in dancing.
The group proved their talent, garnering a total score of 248.5 points and ranking as the second in the College Mixed Hip-Hop.
In an interview with Giraud Montrichard E. Marcelo, an AB Communication student and one of the members of TSU-HHDG, he shared his feelings about their win.
“Unang una syempre sobrang thankful po kay Lord sa pag guide sa bawat isa samin habang isinasayaw namin ang piyesa and sa lahat ng sumusuporta saamin sa journey namin sa NDC. Sobrang saya din po dahil podium finisher kami ulit and nakapag dala po ng pride and honor sa university natin. Naging worth it din po lahat ng pagod at hirap ng bawat isa samin kasi alam po namin na nilaban namin hanggang dulo,” Marcelo said.
Marcelo also shared the hurdles they faced while preparing for the competition.
“Medyo naging mahirap po yung naging preparations namin for this competition dahil sa conflict sa mga schedules dahil galing po kami sa iba’t ibang colleges and dahil sa midterm exams na nagkasabay po a week before nung compet, pero still kinaya naman po ng lahat. Naging mahirap man po yung mga pinagdaanan namin yet isinayaw at inilaban padin po namin ng magkakasama at masasabi naman po namin na nagbunga lahat ng efforts namin dahil podium finisher padin ang TSU for 2 years,” he added.
Despite the challenges they faced, their perseverance and dedication ignited and led them to the victorious spot at the competition.
