The Oracle, TSU Publications receives accreditation at 3rd Siklab

The Oracle, the official publication of the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), received its Certificate of Accreditation during the 3rd Siklab on August 9 at the Student Center, Tarlac State University – Lucinda Campus.
Spearheaded by the Student Publication Unit (SAS) under the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), the event marked the formal recognition of accredited campus publications for the academic year.
Attended by The Oracle’s executives, along with executives from the university and other college-based publications, the event aimed to orient the members on the basic functions of campus journalism and to formally start the service of the publications for the upcoming academic year.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Gladie Natherine G. Cabanizas, Director of OSAS, highlighted the heavy role of campus journalism in today’s generation.
"Leadership in campus journalism is not easy. We need to abide by media laws and etiquettes." Dr. Cabanizas emphasized.
Moreover, Dr. Cabanizas urged the publications to remain dedicated to truthful and unwavering service to the public.
“Let's continue to serve our university. Let's continue to serve our constituents. Para sa bayan, para sa masa.” Dr. Cabanizas added.
Furthermore, The Work Former Editor-in-Chief, Sandra Louisse Q. Vivas, and Former Associate Managing Editor and News Editor, Jasmin Agustin also shared their experiences in campus journalism, providing valuable guidance to the attendees.
Ms. Agustin delivered a talk on Campus Paper Management, emphasizing the significant role of student publications for student welfare.
"You are not just doing a task; you are shaping the student voice." Ms. Agustin shared.
University and college-based publications are set to serve the public for the academic year after Siklab, providing factual and accurate information on significant events within and beyond university premises.
