The Oracle hosts PARIRALA VIII, awards talented CASSmates

The PARIRALA VIII: Salamin-Salamin, organized by The Oracle in partnership with the College of Arts and Social Sciences Student Council (CASS-SC) and the Communicators’ Guild, came to a successful end after the awarding ceremony held at the Theater Room, Smith Hall Building, last Monday, March 3, 2025.


CASS Dean Aloysius Madriaga marked the event's commencement, delivering a moving opening address that inspired the students to pursue excellence in arts and literature.


An unforgettable highlight of the event was the awarding ceremony, wherein winners were given certificates, medals, and plaques in their respective categories. Their hard work and creativity were applauded by an appreciative audience, recognizing their input to various creative fields.


The event was not only highlighted by the awarding ceremony but also featured captivating performances that thrilled the audience,one of the standout moments was delivered by Mary Ruth Orendain, Managing Editor of The Oracle, who took center stage and impressed everyone with an exceptional performance.


Meanwhile, Vice Governor Clarisse Dacanay and BM in Public Information Elle Barbores of CASS Student Council partnered with the Psych Idols Musikero in turning the event into a fiesta. Their performances invoked deep sentiments from the crowd, reiterating the role of arts as a means of representation and unity.


The event was earmarked with inspiration as CASS Governor Alexander Ong delivered an inspiring closing remark.


Moreover, Parirala VIII 2025 was held in partnership with the Student Council of the College of Arts and Social Sciences, CASS-SC and the TSU Communicators' Guild, reinforcing its commitment to promoting excellence in journalism


PARIRALA VIII offered a host of categories to celebrate diversity in fields of art and literature. The participants competed in Larawang Sanaysay, Paggawa Ng Digital Poster, Digital Comics, Tula, Maikling Kwento, Dagli, Coffee Painting, Spoken Word Poetry, Pagsulat Ng Lathalain, and Pagsulat Ng Kolum, each showcasing the unique talent and vision CASS students possess.


The event was not only a platform for competition but also a celebration of creativity, unity, and talent. PARIRALA is an annual literary competition facilitated by The Oracle, the official student publication of CASS.
