Psychology students from the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) showcased their performances in the annual audition of Psych Got Talent, held Saturday, August 30, at the CET AVR, TSU Main Campus.

The event organized by Psych Idols—one of the interest groups of Coesse - TSU Psychological Society—featured performances from singers and dancers, with the Senior MuPSYCHeros entertaining the audience through their intermission numbers.

Elle Flores, a Senior MuPSYCHeros member, expressed her excitement about the event, stating it was her first time performing in Psych Got Talent. She added that performing with her fellow members helped ease her nerves.

"Okay naman ‘yung naging experience ko since first time kong magperform sa Psych Got Talent. Nabawasan na rin ‘yung kaba sa pagperform kasi kasama ko ‘yung mga fellow MuPsycEros ko," Flores said.

Additionally, senior Psych Idol member Gilliana Ramos acknowledged that the stage can be intimidating but encouraged performers to relax, express themselves, and recover quickly from mistakes.

"The stage can be quite intimidating talaga, and maipapayo ko lang na it might help to not really think so much, let your body move, let your voices out, let your mind be at rest, and feel it all in your heart. If magkamali man, bawi agad, and of course, 'wag mahiya to seek help or advice," Ramos said.

Meanwhile, Sean Pineda, Vice President for Interest Groups, said that psychology students are often seen focused only on academics, but Psych Got Talent showed that they have much more to offer beyond that.

He also emphasized how COESSE strives to break stereotypes and support students in expressing themselves through performance art.

The event also introduced new talents, underscoring how, despite the demands of academic work, Psych students are given opportunities to explore creativity and personal expression.

Following the auditions, the program continued with the orientation for other interest groups, giving students more opportunities for participation and growth.
