Is your strava on?
Have you tried the rising hobby people turn to when moving on? or the sports that they call for all generations? You can hear their footsteps echoing around the ovals or even in the streets, the sole of their shoes pounds on the track—every step precise and driven by discipline.
Fast-paced history
In the heart of Tarlac State University’s (TSU) sports hub, a new emerging sports club makes its debut. Last year, the Firefox Running Community (FRC) formerly called Firefox Running Club was established but as they run, the organization rose and made their name more prominent this year.
The FRC was built by the running enthusiast’s employees. A group that was formed through the soul of sprinting interests. The main goal of the community was promote fitness and wellness amongst the employees and to equalize and prepare for university-wide competition such as the State Colleges and Universities Faculty Association of Region (SCUFAR) and Association of State Colleges and Universities- Solid North (ASCU-SN)
Firefox Emblem
Breaking into run, the name Firefox was adapted and based on the mascots and animal symbols from different universities. Hence, instead of TSU Running Community, the FRC was born to dominate the tracks. The FRC also prioritizes the overall wellness of the employees by encouraging physical activities and to lessen the stress and to achieve work-life balance. The purpose of FRC is to encourage their fellow workers to be productively fit by the means of running.
The lace that tauten the morals
Packed with bolts, the FRC carves the values inside the university with employee well-being, consistency, positivity, inclusivity, work-life balance and support to each other. Pounding the bond to keep tight, a fun fact—the community assembles and keeps the hurtling bond between each other by training together before barreling to running competitions. Concluding the timeline of the running event phase, they end it with a much content and upbeat hangout together solidifying the blaze of their shared soul.
Peerless community
What stands out and distinguishes the FRC from other groups is that they are not just a group. They are a robust organization fueled by determination and commitment. They are known to be an employee-based community—a space for those who felt slack on their shoe laces where they can recharge and reduce stress and to have a healthy lifestyle. The people behind the workforce develop a unique way of sports to repress the pressure that we all share in the academic field. The FRC legged its members to enable them to connect with each other outside the workplace; in FRC, it’s just not about workload and deadlines, it’s about wellness. The only deadline that they crave in this core is the checkered waving black and white flag.
Different paths, one goal
Although a community is composed of individuals that share a common goal, they also share their individuality. They join different competitions and numerous fun-run’s. All those people who step on different tracks, the strong support to each other will never be listed in waters.
Even if they run in different paths, accelerate to separate directions, or arrive at a different time at the same competition, they always meet each other at the finish line. A community that runs together, finishes altogether. A testament that you have the full power to your own pace, you can set your speed, or even calculate your steps, but
what matters most is that you know the path until the end—and at the finish line, you will always have the people that sustains the flame that’s kept burning in your passion.
The Blazing Fire of Foxes
The FRC expressed their warm call to those aspiring runners that want to join the community. “If you haven’t started yet, you can start now”. The running community summons the blazing thirst for your wellness, it is a cue to awaken that firefox inside you. The FRC is a welcoming and supportive organization founded to improve health. You don’t
need to be fast, the community seeks a soul that is willing to start and to grow.
Set your own pace
Running is not just a hobby materialized to be a way of moving on from a broken heart, a sport that’s used to post on stories incorporated by the strava app, but rather a sport with a purpose. No matter how early or late we land on the starting line, we must know the path, keep on track and you will eventually spot the end. You can be fast, slow, or even a chill person just enjoying the moment. One thing is to be sure—tighten up your laces, keep your focus on the track and know that the finish line is waiting for you not just to win, but because you fulfill your purpose on running—and that is reaching the goal together as a community.
