Guidance Counseling Unit (GCU) conducted a webinar "Hawak mo ang beat: Busy pero hindi burnout" in partnership with the College of Arts and Social Sciences - Student Council ( CASS - SC) on April 29 via Microsoft teams.
The webinar focused on effective time and stress management strategies, aiming to equip students particularly in preparation for the upcoming final examinations giving practical tools to stay productive without experiencing burnout.
In an interview with John Michael Bartolome, GCU OJT and one of the hosts of the event he shares what he felt being the host.
" For me syempre, being one of the host was both challenging and fulfilling. Syempre before the webinar, may kaba talaga, like iniisip mo kung magiging smooth ba yung flow or kung ma-eengage mo ba yung audience… lalo na online setup, hindi mo agad nakikita reactions nila," he said.
The webinar featured insightful discussions from resource speakers Ms. Kristine A. Ramos, LPT, RPM, and Ms. Liezl Joy P. Domingo, CHRA, RPM, who shared their expertise and guided participants on how to maintain balance amid academic demands.
Bartolome also emphasized the importance of the webinar, noting its relevance to students who are experiencing pressure from academic responsibilities.
"For me, sobrang importante nung webinar kasi very relevant siya sa situation nating students ngayon. Syempre madalas, as students, nakaka-experience talaga tayo ng pressure from deadlines, acads, and responsibilities… tapos minsan sabay-sabay pa yan hahaha. And syempre if i-co-connect natin sa reality, fast-paced talaga yung buhay lalo na lang dito sa Pilipinas, parang lagi tayong hinahabol ng oras at expectations," he added.
Moreover, Nikka Gutierrez is one of the masters of ceremony also alongside Bartolome where they hype up the webinar.
The webinar served as a reminder to the students of the importance of managing their time, prioritizing their well-being, and maintaining balance despite the demands of academics.
