As the 2025 Student Elections at Tarlac State University (TSU) approach tomorrow, the Committee on Student Elections (COMSELEC) facilitated the Miting de Avance today, May 26, 2025, at the Alumni Center, TSU - Lucinda Campus.

The event set the stage for candidates running for the Supreme Student Government (SSG), Supreme Student Council (SSC), and College Student Councils (CSC) to introduce themselves, present their advocacy, and retort to questions from the university's student publication–The Work, Laboratory School's The Work Jr., and college student publications.

The Oracle, the official student publication of the College of Arts and Social Sciences, also took part in inciting the discussions as the two opposing SSC parties, Sandigan Coalition and Kaya Natin Youth - TSU, took their stances on certain issues and proposed their platforms during the Q&A portion.

Meanwhile, due to delays and time constraints, the scheduled debate segments were cancelled. The remaining CSC candidates, including those from CASS, proceeded directly to their Q&A sessions where they were interrogated by their respective student publications.

In the Q&A session led by The Oracle, questions gathered from CASS students were posed to the CASS-SC independent candidates, with some touching on various university and college-wide issues and concerns, such as the Parents' Council Fee, Retention Policy, and Opt-out Mechanisms.

Furthermore, gubernatorial bet and incumbent Vice Governor of CASS, Clarise Ann Dacanay, ensured the continued competence but distinct leadership of the CASS-SC under her prospective term.

"As part of the executive board from the previous council, I can say that that council formed me to be who I am today, and the things that I have learned will be the application for the term that I will lead, and I can say that there is something new, because first and foremost, I have new faces with me. Although, I know that they are part of the apprentices, but the fact that we are from different type of people ng pagli-lead sa konseho, ibig sabihin meron kaming bagong layunin at isa yun yung mga plataporma na isiniwalat namin sa buong campaign period," Dacanay responds to a query.

The election will officially take place tomorrow, May 27, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
