TSU Communicators' Guild President, Romer Madrid, took part as a representative of the Communication Department and lone student participant in the 27th EdukCircle International Convention on Media Communication held via ZOOM meeting last Saturday, March 22, 2025.

The convention became a venue for academic professionals from international universities to deliver insightful lectures on multiple topics, including ways to capitalize on digital media and emerging trends and issues on the said platform.

Pres. Madrid shared it was his third and last time representing the department as a student, putting his experience as memorable and time-fulfilling after he was able to learn from prominent speakers and showcase his own skills and expertise in the field of media communication.

He also credited Mr. A. Sherrod Blakely, a lecturer from Boston University's College of Communication, Department of Journalism, who presented "Tips on How to Make Your Social Media Sizzle."

"Social media is prevalent in today's generation. Sobrang dami sa atin ang ngayon babad sa social media and I remembered that he highlighted in his discussion that when dealing with people online, ask questions," Pres. Madrid said.

"We need to utilize social media properly, we know the cons and pros of our actions online, and before we share our information online, we need to ask iyong pagbibigyan natin ng information, we need to ask for clarification. Why? Because we are doing it for ourselves, do it in the right way. It's the 'think before you click' that matters most," he furthered.

Aside from COMM GUILD's Pres. Madrid, TSU Office of Public Affairs Director, Assoc. Prof. Jazzel Llaneli M. Manabat, and Asst. Prof. Nerissa S. Olarte of TSU Communication Arts Department joined the convention as panelists, alongside other educators from various universities across the Philippines.

The event was hosted by the EdukCircle - International Center for Communication Studies (ICCS), an institution that facilitates collaborative programs, such as seminars, conventions, and scholarly trainings, to promote the advancement and essential evaluation of communication practices in different academic fields.
