Communication Department representatives Joy Celine David and Frankco Sangil were crowned as the new Mr. and Ms. College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) 2025 during the annual pageant held yesterday, September 10.
Organized by the CASS Student Council, the pageant showcased the contestants’ beauty, confidence, and advocacies as student leaders representing their respective departments.
Wayne Andrew Enriquez, also from Communication, and Krisha Mae Gamboa from Psychology, were named 1st Runners-up, while Alfie Quitaleg and Kristin Ann Diones, both from Communication, finished as 2nd Runners-up.
In an interview, David said her biggest motivation came from her family and loved ones.
“Syempre ang pinakaunang nagsupport talaga sakin dito is my family… especially my mom, friends na rin, classmates, and other loved ones. Sobrang thankful ko talaga sa kanila dahil pinush nila ako na maniwala sa sarili ko. With that belief and support, thankfully, nakuha ko naman yung crown,” she shared.
Sangil, meanwhile, credited his confidence and advocacy as his winning edge.
“Siguro para sakin, pinakita ko yung kakayahan ko na makipag-compete sa ibang students at yung advocacy ko rin. Gusto ko na yung title ko ngayon, maka-encourage siya na maging mas mabuti,” he said.
CASS-SC Governor Clarise Ann Dacanay described the event as smooth and successful, citing teamwork as a key factor and thanking the college dean, faculty adviser, and cultural director for their support.
One of the judges, Atty. Charles Kevin Salonga, emphasized the importance of choosing representatives who embody both beauty and character.
“As someone na lumalaban din sa pageants before, what I’m looking for is someone who will represent not just CASS, but also Tarlac State University. So yung overall quality, not just the beauty, but also the character,” Atty. Salonga said.
The pageant featured several segments, including the production number, casual wear, hashtag challenge, and the final Q&A.
Other participants included Mary Shane Bernabe, Angel Manabat, and Allen Meneses from English Language Studies; Mikaela Angela Ferrer and Samuel Roxas from Psychology; Alfie Patricio from Communication; and Gabriel Anthony Yamson and Francis Keith Canlas from Human Services.
With their victory, David and Sangil will represent CASS in the upcoming Mr. and Ms. TSU 2025 this October as part of the university’s 119th Foundation Week celebration.
