COMM 4A holds Seminar on Public Speaking and Event Hosting

Team 7 from BA COMM 4B successfully conducted a seminar titled “𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒄: 𝑨 𝑺𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓 𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒄 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈,” on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Theater Room of the Smith Hall Building.
The seminar aimed to inspire aspiring hosts, students, and individuals seeking to overcome stage fright by sharing practical tips and techniques from experienced professionals on how to speak confidently and engage an audience effectively.
The seminar highlights Dr. Artbie A. Samson to serve as the guest speaker discussing the approaches in public speaking and event hosting.
Dr. Artbie A. Samson served as the guest speaker, delivering an insightful discussion on the fundamentals and nuances of public speaking and event hosting. He shared his personal experiences in the field and incorporated joyful songs into his talk to keep the audience entertained and engaged.
“Yung napakahalagang engagement, before doing an event or hosting an event, audience mo talaga ang number one consideration,” he said.
“Number one po ‘yun, audience awareness. You should know your audience,” he added.
Moreover, despite a sudden power interruption that lasted 10 to 15 minutes during the session, the seminar proceeded smoothly and maintained its enthusiastic atmosphere.
The event was organized by Team 7 members: Rosemarie Gueco, Franco Lacson, Erika Cess Rodriguez, Rolly Santiago, Maria Rose Utal, and Alyssa Andrea Villafuerte. It concluded with the awarding of certificates to the guest speaker and participants.
