COESSE – the TSU Psychological Society, and Auxilium Sodality, official organizations of the Psychology and Human Services Departments, held their first joint general orientation on September 3, 2025, at Kaisa Convention Hall.
The program tackled key matters including the curriculum of both programs, the retention policy for psychology students, frequently asked questions, and the General Plan of Action of both departments and the College of Arts and Social Sciences - Student Council (CASS SC).
Auxilium Sodality President Hercy Jean Salas explained that the joint event was unexpected but necessary due to the growing number of students.
“Supposedly po kasi, separate kami kaso nga po malaki ‘yung population namin, so last minute po [ito],” she said.
She added that support from faculty and coordination among officers contributed to the event’s success.
Meanwhile, COESSE President Alexanndra Santiago shared her main goal for the year, which is to advocate for mental health beyond their organization.
“Ang nilo-look forward ko lang is ma-advocate talaga ng COESSE ‘yung mental health outside our organization, and i-spread ‘yung advocacy na iyon with the other colleges sa TSU,” Santiago said.
Themed “Best of Both Worlds: Psych and Humserv Unite!" the orientation also featured colorful childhood-inspired outfits, interactive games, and performances from Psych Idols and student officers. A freshman walks also commenced to formally welcome first-year students.
Meanwhile, the opening remarks of newly appointed CASS Dean Dr. Brendalyn A. Manzano were delivered on her behalf by Dr. Editha Villavicencio.
The joint orientation marked a milestone collaboration between the two organizations and set the tone for more activities in academic year 2025–2026.
