Women’s leadership and political participation took center stage in a seminar themed, "Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bagong Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas," held at the Engineering Building Room 208 and 209, TSU Main Campus, last March 14, 2025.

The event was organized by the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) as one of their activities for the month-long celebration of Women’s Month.

CASS Governor Alexander Ong delivered the opening remarks, stressing the importance of the seminar in showcasing women's abilities.

"Hindi lingid sa ating kaalaman na over the years ang mga kababaihan ay nakakaranas ng diskriminasyon sa pang araw-araw... Kaya sa seminar na ito mabibigyan tayo ng knowledge kung ano ba ang naging history ng women sa leadership and politics," said Gov. Ong.

The event, held to recognize women's capabilities in leadership, featured Ma'am Eddie Lynne P. Servilla, a teacher from DepEd - Tarlac City Schools Division Office, as the keynote speaker.

She discussed the challenges women face in leadership, the role of Filipina youth in nation-building, and the legal frameworks that promote women's empowerment.

"When it comes to discrimination pwede silang [mga babae] na mag-file ng compliant to anyone,” Ma'am Servilla said, emphasizing the legal rights of women.

An engaging icebreaker activity followed, where participants guessed prominent women politicians through symbols.

CASS Vice Governor Clarise Ann Dacanay formally closed the event, expressing gratitude to all partners and organizations that contributed to the event’s success.

The seminar underscored the significance of fostering leadership opportunities for Filipina youth, reinforcing the commitment to gender equality and representation in governance.
