CASS Student Council (CASS-SC), Gender and Development Office (GAD), TSU staffs, TSU- SSC and TSU students kicked off the celebration of Women’s month, Yesterday, March 11 at TSU Main Campus.
In line with the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas”, this month-long celebration of women’s achievements and resilience through the years commenced with an advocacy walk, “Lakad, Juana”.
Dr. Rita E. Palumano, Director of the Gender and Development Office, shared in an interview the various activities prepared for the month despite budget constraints.
“With cost saving measures na meron tayo, medyo limited. Kagaya ng sinabi ko, may booth competition, merong short film making." Dr. Palumano stated.
"Yung nangyaring kick off program kanina is simultaneously. So, we have here in the Main campus, they had it in the Lucinda campus, they also had it in the San Isidro campus. So, ‘yung Juana Walk, nangyari din sa kanila at dito,” she added.
Additionally, TSU staff and students are encouraged to wear violet-colored clothing every Wednesday throughout the month as a show of support for Women’s Month.
This month-long celebration of Women’s month serves as TSU’s way of honoring and acknowledging the battles and sacrifices of women through the years.
