The College of Arts and Social Sciences Student Council (CASS-SC), in collaboration with college-based organizations—TSU Communicator's Guild, COESSE: The Psychological Society, Linguistic Society, and Auxilium Sodality—organized a Valentine-themed CASSalubong on February 14 at the TSU Smith Hall Building.

The event encompassed Valentine-themed decorations in the 1st floor hallway and entrance of the Smith Hall building, confession boxes addressed to the CASS-SC, and an expression board by the TSU Communicator's Guild.

As part of the celebration, CASS-SC members distributed freebies, including flowers, candies, and chocolates, to students and faculty members.

Headed by Vice Governor Clarise Ann Dacanay, the event aimed to assure students that they are loved by means of gift-giving.

"Parang yung Council yung magbibigay love towards them, kasi doon nagr-root ang service namin, yung passion namin nagr-root siya sa love," says Vice Governor Dacanay.

While CASS students appreciated the anonymous expression board and confession boxes, some commented on how more activities and design-choices could have been made for student engagement

"Next time, gawan nalang pa ng paraan para mas ma-engage yung mga students sa CASS na mas makipag-participate sa mga activities," a 2nd-year psychology student said.

Moreover, the Valentines event stands as the final CASSalubong of graduating Governor Alexander Adrian Ong under his term.

"I am grateful na kasama ko ang mga tao na pinagsilbihan ko ng ilang taon ngayong selebrasyon na ito," he stated regarding the project.

Governor Ong also entrusted the success of the future versions of Cassalubong to the Council members who will be left to take charge in the following academic year.

The Valentine edition of CASSalubong is part of the CASS-SC CASSalubong series; a one-day event which aims to foster love and belongingness among students through various activities.
