College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) opened enrollment on August 14 at the Smith Hall Building – Main Campus for irregular, shifter, transferee, and returning students in the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (AB Psych) and Bachelor of Human Services (BHumServ) programs.
The college required Psychology student returnees to present an approved Returnee Form signed by the College Dean and announced that the program is not accepting shifters or transferees due to full slots.
The morning schedule accommodated irregular students from Psychology and Human Services, including mid-year enrollees, while the afternoon session was allocated for shifters, transferees, and returnees.
Meanwhile, incoming third-year BHumServ student Yllac Ysabel Sioco said she shifted from AB Psych after failing to meet the program’s quota requiremen and found Human Services to be a similar but less demanding course.
“Shifter po from AB Psychology po to Human Services po. Ayos naman po, mas chill po siya sa Psychology… Since parang same lang po sila sa Human Services, lumipat na po ako sa Human Services,” Sioco said.
Another incoming third-year BHumServ student, Jonathan Navarro, said he was surprised by the long enrollment line this year compared to last year, and noted that Human Services focuses more on application while Psychology is more theoretical.
“Medyo hindi ko in-expect na ganito pala kahaba… halos similar lang din, more on application kasi sa Human Services unlike sa Psych, theoretical siya,” Navarro said.
The enrollment held yesterday followed earlier schedules for other students, including accomodation of students under Opt-Out and with Probationary Status.
