Freshman Cedrick Quinajon from Human Services 1A, secured third place in the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) 2025 Taekwando competition, delivering a strong performance during his matches, despite being a newcomer in the collegiate stage, held last February 28, at Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU).

Quinajon admitted experiencing a “culture shock” in his SCUAA debut, facing both physical and emotional challenges during the tournament.

“The hardest part of competing in this kind of competition is pag prepare ng sarili because it can lead to physical and emotional exhaustions.” Quinajon stated in an interview.

Throughout the competition, Quinajon employed a strategic approach, utilizing clinches to control his opponents, landing precise 45-degree kicks, and executing a cut front-leg strike to break through defenses. In his final match, he sealed his performance with a well-timed axe kick from his back leg, demonstrating his determination to win.

“My strength is my eagerness to win and the desire to gain exposure after all these years.” Quinajon expressed.

Despite the pressure, Quinajon remained focused on his objectives, ensuring he enjoyed every moment of his first SCUAA experience, he emphasized the importance of staying humble and balancing physical strength with emotional stability.

With his SCUAA 2025, as a foundation Quinajon is determined to gain more experience and push his Taekwando career even further.
