BHumserve Quad Squad seizes bronze in SCUAA III 2025 Karatedo

Four fearsome reps from the College of Arts and Social Sciences Human Services department bagged 5 bronze in their respective categories for Karatedo as they represented the Tarlac State University Firefoxes during the SCUAA III Regional Games 2025 held at Pampanga State Agricultural University, February 26-27.
Marjorie Jhoy Sanchez and Jayne Marie San Pascual from BHumserve 2-5 eve each seized bronze in the Singles Kata and Kumite -50 kg class categories for the female division, respectively.
Meanwhile, San Pascual alongside BHumserve 2-A's Michelle Lopez fought to claim third in the Team Kumite female division.
In the male division, the Team Kata category also earned a bronze medal as Adrian Jovale Gomez of BHumserve 2-B showcased his skills alongside College of Computer Studies delegates Akizha Aguilar and John Wyne Rufo.
Moreover, Second-time SCUAA athlete San Pascual looked forward to a rematch with her previous year’s opponent from Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), an internationally recognized competitor. Inspired by her rival’s skill, San Pascual pushed herself to close the score gap but fell short of the championship round.
"Naramdaman ko nun na sobrang saya and proud ako kasi nasabi ko nga na international player yun and napatunayan ko lang na nag improve ako at hindi ko basta basta binigay silver medal," she proudly said.
Now aiming for a higher podium finish, San Pascual is committed to rigorous training with hopes of capturing gold in next year’s SCUAA Karatedo com
With BHumserve's quadriple threat for Karatedo, CASS contibuted 5 out of 12 bronze medals to TSU'S name in Karatedo.
The University's Karatedo Varsity team was coached by Prof. Willi Alagano and trained by Assistant Coach Paul Andy Balinas.
The Karatedo games are part of the week-long events of SCUAA III 2025, held from February 22 to 28.
