BA Communication Junior 3B Group 2 conducted a talk show titled “Guilty or Not Guilty” on April 22, 2026, at the Theater Room of Smith Hall Building, Tarlac State University, focusing on cancel culture and its effects on individuals.
The event featured guest speaker Ms. Fatima Malonzo, a content creator and beauty queen, who shared her experiences of being criticized online.
She said that despite facing bashing and challenges related to her disability, she continues to stay strong and pursue what she loves to make others happy.
“Siguro kahit naranasan ko man iyon, patuloy pa rin po akong nagiging matatag [at] patuloy pa rin akong tumatayo sa kung ano po yung nakasanayan ko,” Malonzo said.
“Do what you love, and love what you do,” she added.
The talk show was organized under the direction of Leanna Kaylee Manuel, with the class collaboratively working on the production.
Manuel said the group selected cancel culture as their topic due to its relevance and impact on people today.
“We were in between three topics, pero ultimately ito yung napili namin because it happens to people,” Manuel said.
She added that the production process was manageable, with her co-director leading the pre-production while she handled technical aspects such as the script, poster, and overall design.
“The process wasn’t too difficult naman… sobrang cooperative nila as well as collaborative habang we were deciding on a topic,” she said.
Manuel said the show aimed to highlight stories of individuals who have experienced being “cancelled” and how they were able to recover from challenges.
