Team Balintataw of BA COMM 3-1 Eve and Team Tangled in Red of BA COMM 3-2 Eve triumphed as they procure the Best Play Award in the Short and Sweet Play held at the Theater Room, Smith Hall Building, on Oct 28, 2024.
Balintataw, with a genre of Tragedy, showed powerful production and thrilling storyline, featuring a family in trance of the youngest childโs unidentified health issue. Their performance earned them a score of 84.3%, leading their path to victory.
Honoring the Romance-Comedy genre, Tangled in Red delivered a dynamic performance, catching the attention of the audience. They featured a mythical concept of two men falling in love in the journey of cutting the red strings that bound them together. Despite a 7-point deduction, they earned a final score of 90.3%, securing the Best Play Award.
Although traditionally, Best Play constitutes to Best Director Award, the judges set new standards in awarding the recognition. Mari Gabrielle Pascual of Tangled in Red was awarded as the Best Director, while Ma. Sophia Talon of Kapag Tumibok ang Puso also claimed the recognition.
To add to that, the Best Actor Award was given to Miclint Jester Bala as Lester of Kapag Tumibok ang Puso (RomCom) and Ervan Mendoza as Enrico โRickyโ Bermudez of MALAYA (Tragedy).
Meanwhile, Azel Joy Duquesa as Nanay Susan of Yaman (Drama), together with Nicole Rosete as โBelindaโ of Tangled in Red (RomCom), received the Best Actress Award.
Additionally, various group and individual awards were distributed among the groups and actors of the play.

For 3-1 Eve, Lyonel Renzo Mendoza bagged Best in Monologue Performance, while Ervan Mendoza was given the award in 3-2 Eve.
Best in Doble-Kara Performance was granted to Von Joseph Rafael of 3-1 Eve and Paula C. Dungo of 3-2 Eve.
Ace Gabriel Cayabyab and Deron Joshua Magante claimed Best in Costume and Make-up.
