Incoming freshman students from the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) gathered at the Smith Hall Building as enrollment for the Academic Year 2025–2026 officially took place on June 27 at Tarlac State University, Main Campus.
The CASS Department, with the support of the student council and department organizations, assisted and oriented the newly admitted students throughout the enrollment process.
In an interview, Elaiza Alfonso, an incoming first-year Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (AB Psych) student, expressed both joy and nervousness about entering college.
"I am happy po na nakapasa ako, and at the same time I'm thrilled and pressured... kaya kinakabahan po ako kasi iba na raw po pag college," she shared.
She added that she feels “mixed emotions,” as gratitude and anxiety come together with the beginning of her college journey.
Another AB Psychology student, Jilliane Fiona De Guzman, also shared her expectations for her chosen program.
“Ine-expect ko na magiging challenging siya, lalo na sa mga major subjects, pero excited din ako kasi gusto ko ‘yung course na kinuha ko. I am praying, hoping, and manifesting na hindi lang puro aral, kundi may mga opportunities din to grow as a person — like makasali sa orgs, makakilala ng bagong friends, at matuto sa real-world experiences,” De Guzman said.
Meanwhile, a first-year Bachelor of Human Services (BHumServ) student expressed excitement to learn and grow within their chosen field.
"Siguro po mas lalong ma-eenhance yung knowledge ko... nag-a-assume po ako na marami akong matututunan."
Aside from AB Psychology and BHumServ, the College of Arts and Social Sciences also offers two other undergraduate programs: Bachelor of Arts in Communication (AB Comm) and Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies (AB ELS).
