The Tarlac City Scholarship Helpdesk Booth has opened its doors to students from Tarlac State University (TSU) โ Main, creating a platform to reach out to potential scholars, on February 14, 2024.
The TSU Scholarship and Financial Unit, an office within the Student Center of Student Affairs and Offices, opened the booth at Tarlac State University, Main Campus, coinciding with the celebration of SAS Week.
As most of the grantees were from Lucinda Campus, Dr. Niรฑa Valentin, the head of the booth, mentioned that their platform will serve as an accessible helpdesk and a booth for the SAS Week celebration for students from different TSU campuses.
The platform's purpose extends beyond assistanceโ"itโs also for a good causeโ As itโs considered a booth, theyโre selling products made by the residents, and the proceeds will go to Rehoboth, a center for children who are abandoned, neglected, or abused.
The onsite helpdesk, located at the front gate of TSU Main Campus, is staffed by SAS personnel providing forms and brochures. They disseminated information about scholarship programs that are open for applications an guide students on the requirements they need to meet upon applying.
If youโre planning to join, here are the initial requirements:
โข Barangay Indigency Certificate
โข Certificate of Registration (COR)
โข Report of Grades (for non-freshmen)
โข Form 137/138 for Incoming Freshmen
The opportunity is open to students from any year and program. It is highly encouraged for those students who were truly indigent and do not already have a scholarship. During the application, there will be a screening of studentโs eligibility, and the usual general weighted average (GWA) required by providers was 2.50, although it may vary depending on the scholarship program a student is applying for.
The helpdesk will be open again simultaneously on February 16 at the TSU Lucinda and San Isidro campuses.
