Auxilium Sodality, the official student organization of the Human Services Department, conducted a seminar about social- emotional learning for first-year BHumServ students held yesterday, September 26, at TSU - Main AVR.
Titled “Spilling the Tea: How Social and Emotional can Boost your Student Experience,” the seminar focused on different ways to improve college experience through social and emotional learning.
Ms. Mary Joy Manalo, Associate Guidance Counselor of the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) was invited as the event guest speaker and pointed out the importance of seeking help from other people.
"It's okay na mag-seek tayo ng help with your friends, with your family, with your professor, and guidance counselor. Okay lang po 'yon, lalo na kung hindi natin maintindihan 'yung isang bagay. Lalo na kung kailangan na kailangan na natin ang ibang tao," Ms. Manalo said.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Hercy Jean Sales, president of Auxilium Sodality, emphasized the significance of support and collaboration in fostering a safe space for everyone.
"Together, we can create a safe space where everyone can express themselves freely. Always remember, we are stronger together,” Ms. Sales expressed.
Furthermore, the attendees engaged in various activities prepared by Auxilium Sodality and Ms. Manalo, which helped reinforce the seminar's agenda.
Auxillum Sodality took the opportunity to award BHumServ students who participated in different events during the celebration of Buwan ng Wika.
